as its newest equity partner, effective January 1, 2025. Mr. Pearman will lead the establishment of a
new office in Sioux Falls, South Dakota
A member
of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe, Mr. Pearman brings an extraordinary track
record of advocacy for Indian tribes and their business interests. For over 12 years, Mr. Pearman served as
Attorney General for the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe, where he played a critical
role in creating and advising tribally-owned businesses and projects that
sustained and grew the tribal economy. Committed to the principle that the
advancement of Indian Country depends on the self-sufficiency of Tribes, Mr.
Pearman has dedicated his career to advocating for the economic interests of
Tribes and their citizens. He also brings litigation experience in tribal,
state, and federal courts.
His
practice areas include finance, cannabis and hemp, blockchain, economic
development and gaming, governmental affairs and legislative advocacy, housing,
taxation, litigation, employment, energy, real estate, and international law.
Mr.
Pearman graduated from the University of South Dakota, Knudson School of Law,
in 2012. He graduated from the University of South Dakota with Bachelors of
Business Administration-Accounting in 2009. During
college, he attended Otaru University of Commerce in Otaru, Hokkaido, Japan, as
an international business foreign exchange student from 2008-2009.
Since
2016, Mr. Pearman has served as Chairman of the Indian Law Committee of the
State Bar of South Dakota. He is
licensed to practice law in South Dakota.
