Gavin M. Ratcliffe

Gavin Ratcliffe joined the firm in 2023 as an associate attorney in the Sacramento office*. Mr. Ratcliffe graduated from Syracuse University in 2022, where he completed a joint J.D./Master of Public Administration program. During law school Mr. Ratcliffe gained experience in Constitutional, Environmental, Administrative and Appellate law. Mr. Ratcliffe elected to complete a clerkship following law school to get in-depth experience in judicial decision making.

Mr. Ratcliffe decided to dedicate his practice to Indian Law after visiting the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe in Northern Minnesota and learning about the deep connection the law and history has with tribes environmental, economic, and political conditions.

Mr. Ratcliffe graduated from Oberlin College with a Bachelor of Arts in History. While at Oberlin College Mr. Ratcliffe competed in Cross Country and Track & Field. Outside of work Mr. Ratcliffe enjoys reading about American History and cheering on the Syracuse Orange and Sacramento Kings.

*Mr. Ratcliffe is currently licensed to practice law only in the State of Minnesota. Mr. Ratcliffe is awaiting admission to the California Bar.
